Our surgeon, Dr. Regina Schroeder, has 20 years of surgical experience as well as board certification through the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Our wonderful team of licensed veterinary technicians and assistants have over 50 years of combined experience as well as expertise in the field of veterinary anesthesia and surgery.
A board-certified veterinary surgeon is a licensed veterinarian who has completed an internship and residency program in surgical care of small animal patients. A veterinary surgeon can offer special assistance in the following kinds of cases:
- Traumatic injury and emergencies such as fractures, joint dislocation, skin wounds or trauma, and abdominal or thoracic surgery.
- Orthopedic surgeries such as treatment for cruciate ligament tear, elbow dysplasia, shoulder injuries or OCD, and tendon or ligament injuries.
- Joint evaluation with arthroscopy for elbow, shoulder and knee joints.
- Soft tissue or oncologic surgeries such as tumor/cancer removal, gallbladder, kidney or urinary bladder surgery and correction of congenital defects.
- Neurological surgeries such as herniated disc treatment.
- Regenerative medicine such as stem cell or platelet rich plasma therapy.
We have a dedicated rehabilitation therapy department and can offer extracorporeal shock wave therapy, prosthetic/orthotics, underwater treadmill and laser therapy for a variety of injuries or illnesses.
