24-Hour Emergency Service Provided
Animal Emergency and Specialty Center is fully equipped to handle your pet’s emergencies and critical care needs. Our emergency and critical care services include:
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive and painless diagnostic imaging tool utilized by our emergency doctors for a focused assessment of the chest and abdomen as part of their examination. This can aid our doctors with an early diagnosis of diseases such as bleeding abdominal tumors, congestive heart failure, severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), and more.
In-House Laboratory
Animal Emergency and Specialty Center has a full in-house laboratory on site. Using advanced technology, we can quickly diagnose your pet’s issue and treat it accordingly. At our hospital, we have the ability to run comprehensive blood chemistry panels, complete blood counts (CBC’s), test for heartworm, and test for viral infections (FeLV/FIV, Parvovirus). We are able to complete lab work in a few minutes and can respond immediately if treatment is needed.
We also work with a complete reference laboratory that allows us the ability to send out samples for additional diagnostic testing.
Digital Radiographs
Radiography (commonly referred to as X-rays) is an imaging tool that we use to examine your pet’s internal body structures. We use radiographs to diagnose fractures (broken bones), locate foreign objects within the body, and screen for cancer and organ abnormalities.
Surgery
No matter the time of day, our well-trained team is prepared to provide your pet with the very best surgical care in their time of need. Our emergency team performs many different types of surgeries, including:
- Laceration repair / wound repair
- Foreign object removal
- External eye surgery
- Caesarean (C-section)
- Gastric Dilatation Volvulus, GDV (Twisted Stomach)
- Pyometra (Life Threatening Infection of the Uterus)
- Cystotomy (Bladder Surgery)
- Splenectomy (Spleen Removal)
Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that is used in emergency situations or when diagnosing an illness or disease. Our veterinarians at Animal Emergency and Specialty Center use endoscopy to visually examine your pet's internal organs without invasive surgery or exploratory procedures.
